Project Overview
The task was to create an augmented reality application for demonstration purposes with a few cars of different brands and 3D model of automotive engine.
After launching the app the user can choose between 2 modes - marker tracking and markerless tracking.
Marker tracking mode allows the user to place 3D model on the marker.
Markerless tracking allows the user to place the model onto any surface! Just scan the environment with the smartphone’s camera and tap to place the model.
What Was Done
ARKit technology was used for markerless tracking.
Features:
- Place the model on the marker
- Scan the surface and place the car on any plane
- 1:1 real size 3D models
- Choose one of the car models
- Animated engine model
- Making screenshots
The application includes realistic 3D car models produced by different companies.
Each 3D model could be moved and rotated.
In addition the app includes an animated engine model of a real size.
