Our client’s platform for investors delivers analytical information on their assets and investment projects. The platform is built on vast databases and integrates with multiple third-party APIs, allowing users to access financial data, track stock market trends, and request analytical reports. The incoming data from services like Bloomberg is parsed and stored in the platform’s data warehouse.

Data packages were only provided once every 24 hours, which proved inadequate in a rapidly changing investment landscape. The lack of timely updates meant investors were unable to access the latest statistics, historical data, and company information.

Another issue was the semi-automated compilation of government reports, which involved complex analytical calculations. The manual process of filling out these reports was time-consuming and prone to errors.

To improve the system, our team was tasked with implementing new functionality for visualizing analytical data and financial reporting. This involved inputting stress factors and creating embedded modules for customizable financial analytics. Additionally, we focused on automating government reporting to reduce the time required for this task.

Our team has enhanced the integration, enabling the system to receive real-time data packets. The platform’s database has been bolstered by an extensive pool of analytical information that can now be generated dynamically. The amount of data that previously had to be transmitted and processed once a day may now be accessed in just a minute.

This functionality unlocks new possibilities for users, allowing them to request quotes for exchange rates of any currency, not just for specific dates but for any desired period with customizable frequency intervals. The integrated Market data requestor allows users to make personalized requests and receive real-time updates on a variety of data, such as exchange rates-based capitalization. Additionally, users can access extensive information about companies by their ISIN, such as assets, liabilities, and financial background.

Automated financial reporting

Previously, generating complex reports for the US government with extensive analytics required a huge amount of manual effort. Although a few reports were partially automated with data collected from database tables, revenue metrics calculations were still performed manually.

Our team has fully automated the reporting process. The system instantly gathers all the necessary data from the required database tables, performs the necessary calculations and formats the resulting reports in just one click, replacing the previously time-consuming manual approach with an accounting method that uses substituted formulas.

The financial statements cover a range of funds and can be generated quarterly or monthly. The client can customize report templates according to their specifications and conveniently export them in various file formats.

Advanced finance and data analytics

Our team has enhanced the platform with custom instruments to provide traders with extensive finance and data analytics. The data visualization tools generate detailed reports with graphs, charts, and tables, providing customized analysis based on market conditions.

Furthermore, the platform offers a unique feature that enables users to conduct stress tests on investment funds based on risk parameters. The tests can be adjusted manually or automatically, determining various stress factors such as liquidity risk, interest rate, foreign exchange, concentration risks, etc.

By modifying risk parameters, investors can identify optimal investment opportunities, hedge against potential losses, and manage portfolios more efficiently. The stress testing feature allows investors to simulate possible market scenarios and assess the potential impact on their assets.

We followed the Agile methodology for this project. The implementation of the main features took approximately five months, during which we worked closely with the client to quickly incorporate additional features into the platform. Our developers regularly communicated with the client via Google Meets and Google Chat. The team provided constant task updates and guided the client throughout the development workflow.

To ensure smooth progress, the Innowise team focused on key work areas, including integrating third-party services, developing standalone modules, and creating custom reports for analysts. We divided our work scope into three main areas and managed them efficiently through Slack and Jira. Each one-week sprint phase was followed by daily stand-up meetings, where we provided updates and collected new requirements.
