Over the past decade, our client has utilized a powerful and feature-rich web platform to deliver asset allocation and data management services. Essentially, the platform provided allocators and fund managers with advanced tools to make high-value investments, optimize financial resources, reduce costs, and mitigate risks.
However, over time, investors have voiced complaints about inconvenient interfaces and incomprehensible modules that impeded accessibility and performance. Many workflows seemed overly complex, unclear, or controversial even for experienced fund managers, resulting in data handling and results processing challenges.
In response, the client engaged Innowise Group to refactor the website workflow and modernize user interfaces. This initiative aimed to enable transparent and comprehensive decision-making by updating their investment portfolio management software.
We aimed to improve operational efficiency and control through creating user-friendly process diagrams that break the investment into obvious and understandable stages. With the new asset management visualization, allocators can track intermediate investment progress through simple charts and schemes rather than just observing estimations behind the scenes. In that way, we defined and configured automated workflows that show interconnections between sequential stages, resulting in improved efficiency, compliance, and control.
In essence, every complex investment process is divided into clearly defined stages, with intermediate outcomes serving as input for the next step. The charts then serve as the basis for all internal workflows, resembling the algorithms driving programming code. Ultimately, these centralized pipelines automate asset management processes, ensuring clients’ portfolios are reconciled, workflows are streamlined, and errors are caught, preventing failed audits.
Our project team configured comprehensive and automated checks to monitor asset portfolios and investments based on a range of pre and post-trade conditions. These checks can be customized to comply with guidelines and accessed in both actual and what-if scenarios, considering investment strategies, liquidity, exposure, performance, risk, leverage, cash, ESG, and other custom filters.
ENHANCED DATA MANAGEMENT
We ensured that valuation data is frequently reconciled to accurately replicate the official books and records through data aggregation, cleansing, and enrichment. With this feature, fund managers can rest assured that all data management and reporting functions are accurate and up-to-date.
To safeguard funds from unreasonable investment, we elaborated a comprehensive risk management module that streamlines well-informed decision-making through charts. With this advanced feature, the web platform provides a holistic view by combining position-based risk and statistical metrics, including operational, liquidity, exposure, and compliance considerations. Unlike limited quantitative-only risk analyses, risk charts provide complete visibility across qualitative and quantitative data, ensuring allocators with greater insight into their investment activities. Moreover, the platform integrates performance and cash flow analytics to facilitate multi-asset portfolio administration, including investments in both public and private markets.
CLIENT PORTALThanks to the availability of an around-the-clock help center, allocators can gain valuable financial information and decent investment advice. The client portal allows users to access information that is tailored to their specific roles and responsibilities, ensuring that allocators are only granted access to the information that has been assigned to them by senior management.
Initially, the customer commissioned Innowise Group to enhance the asset management module. After being impressed by the speed and efficiency of our work, they entrusted our team to optimize the entire investment banking software front-end.
During the discovery phase, we formulated a process vision, identified areas for further development, defined the necessary functionalities, and determined the optimal technologies to be used. Also, at this stage, we chose Scrum as the primary project methodology. During regular meetings, the team discussed results and scope changes, staying aligned with the customer’s requirements.
Innowise Group’s specialists worked with the client’s back-end developers to improve the interface and display of information. Using the new workflow, the user performs a series of logical actions, observing previous outcomes, current states, and the next steps instantly. These roadmaps are based on a list of documents and requirements for each element.
As an extra step, we developed a micro front-end for CASD (Secure Data Access Centre) to ensure the client’s data was secure and immune to breaches.
As of now, Innowise Group continues to support the app at all stages of development and assists the customer in expanding, scaling, and reaching new audiences.
Innowise Group improved the software for investment management, making it more comprehensive and transparent through detailed charts and step-by-step schemes. Furthermore, we enhanced the UI/UX design, eliminating outdated, inconvenient templates and layouts that scared away new customers and hampered brand expansion.
Overall, our project team customized the platform to meet customers’ specific goals and investment strategies. With a renewed financial platform, allocators and fund managers are now able to concentrate on core competencies rather than being distracted by controversial interfaces and obscure estimations. From now, users are empowered with enhanced capabilities to manage investments with proper control and transparency across their portfolio allocations.
